
In the latest book, Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh has tried to cover major periods of Sindh as Indus Valley Civilization, Vedic era, Buddhist era and then Islamic era. Similarly, he has emphasized to re explore the changes came in the Sindhi society during British rule and after creation of Pakistan. He has also discussed on the Sindh’s culture, social and political life, and development of Sindh’s folklore, Baloch migration, local dynasties, British rule and then Sindh being a part of a new born country – Pakistan.
Although the book is a brief historical account of Sindh, but it covers most important aspects of Sindh, as the author considers Sindh as a cradle of great Indus Valley Civilization.
Rare pictures have also been made a part of the book, which have enhanced its beauty and importance. The book has designed by Ms Shaista M. Ali and Abdullah Thebo. The SMI University Press, Karachi has published it.–Staff Reporter
